Mission and Vision

Main Street Running Collective (MSRC) is a faith-based specialty running retailer located in Hamilton, OH, created to grow with, and give back to, our local community. We call ourselves a “collective” because we believe in rising together with Hamilton’s small business community and the runners who call this place home.

Founded in 2025 by Johnathon and Jessica Jones, MSRC exists to advocate and promote healthy, active lifestyles and build meaningful relationships in our community. We believe running is worth celebrating - every step, every mile. It shapes who we are, and it’s even better when shared.

Whether you’re lacing up for the first time or chasing your next PR, we know the power of being surrounded by people who understand your journey. As the saying goes - ‘a rising tide lifts all boats’ - and we’re here to lift, encourage and equip you through products, coaching, and community.

Our intentions are simple: meet every potential and current runner where they are. We listen to your ‘why’, adapt to your needs, and help you find joy in the process- one step at a time.

Meet the Founders

Johnathon Jones: Co-Founder

Johnathon is Hamilton native, having grown up on both sides of the river through high school and college. After graduating from Badin High School, he attended Miami University.

It wasn’t until after college that he gained a passion for running. With no background or prior training, initial intentions were simply to become more active. In the years to follow, the passion grew, and running has become a staple activity in his daily routine. Let us not forget, if he didn’t get into running, he would have never met Jessica!

Having lived in Guatemala, Boulder, CO, and Knoxville, Tennessee for the last 15 years, he returned to his hometown in the Summer of 2025. One of the most noticeable changes that he noticed was the running community. Fueled by his passion and pension for building into his hometown, Johnathon recognized a need to bring more offerings and services to support the local market.

Jessica Jones: Co-Founder

Although Jessica was born and raised in San Diego, she is almost a local by way of how she integrates herself into every community that she lives. Jessica played Field Hockey at Miami University, and returned to Hamilton following graduation where she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteer in Service to America) focusing on community engagement for Hamilton’s underserved communities.

As Johnathon chased her around the globe for several years, she earned her Doctorate’s Degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. She then served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, and recently returned to Miami University as a faculty member in 2025.

Her passion for running began after she finished her last season of Division 1 Field Hockey. Without an organized sport to challenge her, a former teammate and her decided to “see what would happen” if they trained for a marathon. Needless to say, she has continued to pursue endurance sports ever since. Jessica has a heart for people, building relationships, and empowering others to achieve their goals.

Collectively, Johnathon and Jessica have completed more than 75 races - from 5K’s to marathons to full distance Ironmans. They’re especially drawn to the marathon, where the discipline, grit, and perseverance required have shaped not only their physical fitness, but their minds, their character, and their faith. Running has taught them patience, trust, and consistency - lessons that transcend beyond the miles.

With three young kids, they use running to model joy in movement and to reminder their family that we can do hard things. Their “date-nights” often happen on weekend long runs or trips to explore new places by racing together. They know running is hard, and life is, too, but both are made deeper and more meaningful when approached with purpose, resilience and faith.

Need a coach?

Everyone has a different reason for ‘why’ they want to begin running, or ‘why’ they have done so for any length of time. Your story matters, and we want to hear all about it. We would love to grab a cup of coffee, or even a local brew, and learn more about your journey - understanding where you started, where you are currently, and where you want those legs to take you!
